Preston West Primary School is a school just outside Melbourne, Australia. The other day, the school released a newsletter which has since been yanked from its website. For understandable reasons, it turns out: That newsletter announced that in ten years, they imagine there will be microchips implanted in students’ brains to keep them under control.
What might be their excuse for that kind of power grab? Well, for one idea, we can slide a few hundred miles west to the state of South Australia. The government there just declared a “climate emergency,” which doesn’t mean a lot now, but will mean a lot in the future. “Climate” is the left’s favorite bogeyman. It’s the way they’ll be able to make the Covid era permanent. In the old days, an “emergency” was a short crisis that required a rapid response. But “climate” is the exact opposite. Climate is basically invisible. The only reason people believe global warming is happening at all is because “experts” tell them. Of course, experts can lie, or simply be full of it. Even if they were right about the climate changing, it would take decades to fix this problem, and decades to even know if we were succeeding in our changes. But of course, they don’t want the problem to ever be solved.
Global warming is an authoritarian’s dream: It’s an excuse to control and micromanage everybody’s lives forever. They want you to live in a pod. They want to take away your car. They want to stop you from eating meat and force you to eat bugs instead. Because it’s all an “emergency,” they get to take away free speech and institute massive censorship, because too much freedom of expression is dangerous in an “emergency.”
So that’s what’s coming to the once-free land of Australia. What’s going on in New Zealand? Well, over there, the government just announced a new “National Centre of Research Excellence for Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism.” Cut through all the high-minded B.S. and you basically have a rebranded Ministry of Truth.
