Former President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday the launch of a new social media site, “TRUTH Social,” designed to “create a rival to the liberal media consortium.”
“I created TRUTH Social and TMTG to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech. We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American President has been silenced. This is unacceptable,” Trump said in a statement. He also pledged to send out his “first TRUTH on TRUTH Social very soon.”

The platform, which is already available for pre-order from the Apple app store, is expected to enter its beta launch for select members in November. TMG said it hopes to facilitate a “nationwide rollout” at the beginning of 2022 to “give a voice to all.”
“I’m excited to soon begin sharing my thoughts on TRUTH Social and to fight back against Big Tech. Everyone asks me why doesn’t someone stand up to Big Tech? Well, we will be soon!” Trump continued.
TRUTH Social’s launch comes on the heels of a merger agreement between Trump Media & Technology Group, which has a projected value as high as $1.7 billion, and Digital World Acquisition Corp. that will enable it to be listed on the Nasdaq. The company’s address is listed at Trump’s private membership club Mar-A-Lago.
It also follows months of Big Tech censorship and corporate media attempts to justify the deplatforming of the former leader of the free world. Since January, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and even Pinterest have colluded to ban the former president, actively working to limit his ability to communicate with his fan base.
Trump signaled in June that he was not content with returning to platforms run by his foes who have no problems deplatforming and silencing people they disagree with.
“But they say they may allow me back in two years,” Trump said at the North Carolina Republican Party State Convention. “I’m not too interested in that. They may allow me back in two years. We got to stop that. We can’t let it happen. So unfair. They’re shutting down an entire group of people. Not just me, they are shutting down the voice of a tremendously powerful, in my opinion, a much more powerful and a much larger group.”
