Anyone else feel like they’re being taken for a ride with this COVID-19 nonsense? Like you’re being played? Manipulated?
For anyone paying attention, it should have been obvious for a while now that the people who swear hardest that they’re just “following the science” — the national media, “experts” and Democrats — are really just making things up as they go. And when they’re not doing that, they’re deliberately lying.
Mike Allen of Axios more or less admitted it on behalf of the media in his daily newsletter on Monday.
“Here’s the Delta dilemma for government and the media,” he wrote, referring to the new variant of COVID-19. “Reassuring most vaccinated Americans they don’t need to freak out could backfire if it causes those who are at risk to let down their guard.”
In other words, how forthcoming should the people in charge, including journalists, be with the public? How much information about your health can you be trusted with? Can you be trusted to make the right decisions for yourself and your family?
That’s the “dilemma.”
We’ve seen this happen over and over again for more than a year now. We’re being told at the moment that even the people who believed they were saying goodbye to COVID-19 by getting the promised cure — vaccines that we were told would take us back to normal — are in fact right back where everything started.
Mask up, folks!
Remember President Biden’s corny “100 Days Masking Challenge,” wherein he randomly decided that 100 days was enough for people to wear a cover over their noses and mouths?
Lol.
That was on Jan. 20. We are almost an additional 100 days of that fun game, with the administration once again instructing everyone, even those who have received a vaccine, to wear masks when indoors. Travel has also once again been restricted. And this is even though the “experts” swear that the vaccines are effective in preventing severe illness.
It’s precious to think back to how we got here: “15 days to slow the spread,” we were told. Then we just needed to “flatten the curve.” We only needed to wait “a little longer.”
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the media’s favorite sex symbol, used to say that the U.S. could reach herd immunity from the virus when 60 to 70 percent of the population becomes resistant either naturally or by way of vaccines. Then that number became 75 percent. Then 80 percent. Then 85 percent. Then as high as 90 percent.
Hilariously, Fauci admitted to the New York Times that the incremental shift was largely based on manipulating the public. “When polls said only about half of all Americans would take a vaccine, I was saying herd immunity would take 70 to 75 percent,” he told the paper. “Then, when newer surveys said 60 percent or more would take it, I thought, ‘I can nudge this up a bit,’ so I went to 80, 85. … We really don’t know what the real number is. I think the real range is somewhere between 70 to 90 percent.”
Changing a prognosis based on public opinion surveys isn’t really “science” but Fauci was the one to say it, so he gets a pass from his fan girls in the media.
If “the science” is going to be whatever the media, the “experts” and Democrats say it is at any given moment, based on how much they feel like telling you, then it’s no longer science. It’s deception. We are actively being lied to, over and over.
