Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has claimed that the Davos elite at the World Economic Forum (WEF) are “trembling violently” at the prospect of Donald Trump’s return to the White House.
In an article published in the Daily Mail, Johnson wrote:
“In the cocktail parties of Davos, I am told, the global wokerati have been trembling so violently that you could hear the ice tinkling in their negronis.”
Trump ruffled feathers following his historic landslide victory in Iowa last week and is predicted to enjoy a repeat performance in New Hampshire on Tuesday.
Johnson continued:
“In the senior common rooms of our universities, in the synod of the Church of England, in the Orwellian corridors of the BBC and among much of the UK establishment, there has been a caterwauling orgy of nose-holding abhorrence.”
The former British PM noted that despite the attacks Trump faces, he is becoming more popular.
“The more frenzied the effort to cancel him, the stronger he becomes. The more bitterly his enemies wage lawfare against him, the more unstoppable he seems to be,” he wrote.
According to Johnson, the prospect of a Trump presidency caused a collective “shriek” from the “Western liberal intelligentsia” and manifested a “sheer, gibbering funk.”
Last week, Vice President Kamala Harris also voiced concerns about Trump defeating President Biden.
“I was scared as heck,” Harris admitted during her appearance on ABC’s “The View.”
“We should all be scared.”
Meanwhile, some Obama aides said Biden’s team has a weaker ground game than the former president’s.
“The vibe was that the campaign didn’t have its sh-t together,” an anonymous Democrat told Politico.
“There wasn’t infrastructure in the states. There wasn’t a beefed-up campaign headquarters. And compared to where Obama was in 2011, the campaign was fairly anemic.”
There have been calls for unity among GOP, most notably from former presidential candidates Vivek Ramaswamy and Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC)
“The race is already over,” Scott said this weekend.
“And politically speaking and figuratively speaking, they are dead people walking.”
“It is time for this Republican Party to focus only on one person, and that is eliminating Joe Biden by electing Donald Trump.”
