Andrew Wakefield on MMR vaccines and autism

Andrew Wakefield is one of the most important scientists in the field of autism and vaccines, and also one of the most targeted by the pharmaceutical industry for the same reason.

He received his medical degree from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School in 1981, and trained as a gastrointestinal surgeon with a particular interest in inflammatory bowel disease.

Andrew has published over 140 papers.

Since his 1998 paper on MMR vaccines and autism, which caused a meltdown in the pharmaceutical industry, he became the victim of one of the largest character assassinations in medical history.

Ignore Wikipedia and the media and all those who refuse to read properly.. Here’s what the paper concluded:

“We did not prove an association between measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine and the syndrome described. Virological studies are underway that may help to resolve the issues. If there is a causal link between measles, mumps and rubella vaccine and this syndrome, a rising incidence might be anticipated after the introduction of this vaccine in the UK in 1988. Published evidence is inadequate to show whether there is a change.”

Here’s the paper: Ileal-lymphoid-nodular hyperplasia, non-specific colitis, and pervasive developmental disorder in children
