The video, created Sunday, shows two women “twerking” next to a police car downtown around 2:30 a.m. One woman then climbs onto the hood of the car, followed quickly by several others. A crowd gathered around cheering on the chaos.
The mob climbed onto the hood and roof of the occupied police car and began jumping up and down. At one point, the crowd opened the passenger door.
The mob tried smashing the windshield of the cruiser before additional units arrived to assist the officers.
The video, taped by Dwight Taper, had over 40,000 views by Monday morning on Facebook.
Video taken from inside the cruiser shows the officer radioing for assistance and showing tremendous restraint, not exiting the cruiser to prevent an escalation of the incident.
Here is a clip from the body worn camera of the officer who was inside the vehicle.
