Dems Who Gutted Border Security Tout Senate Bill Codifying Mass Illegal Immigration

The lying, scheming, and deception surrounding the Senate’s emergency appropriations bill should have barred it from consideration — especially by Republicans. Democrats’ sudden support for legislation masquerading as a solution to the raging U.S. border crisis after they ignored the record-breaking invasion for the last three years is even more utterly disqualifying.

Republicans and Democrats alike pitched the Senate’s latest as a one-size-fits-all solution to the nation’s border woes. They claimed it would be a fast track to the border shutdown the country needs and crack down on asylum claims.

In reality, the legislative package throws billions more U.S. tax dollars at securing Ukraine’s borders while purposefully leaving the American border vulnerable to millions more illegal border crossings each year.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson warned on Sunday night that the “worse than we expected” bill would be “dead on arrival” in the lower chamber. His rejection of the legislation, however, did nothing to stop his GOP colleagues in the Senate and their allies in the Democrat party from touting the bill.

Administration Allies

Joe Biden has the power as POTUS to end the border crisis his administration created with the stroke of the pen but has thus far refused. Instead, he threw his weight behind legislation that would codify his administration’s border sabotage and claimed only the bill as is “would give me, as President, a new emergency authority to shut down the border when it becomes overwhelmed.”

“Now we’ve reached an agreement on a bipartisan national security deal that includes the toughest and fairest set of border reforms in decades. I strongly support it,” Biden said in a statement on Sunday.

Failed border czar Vice President Kamala Harris similarly called for Congress to “quickly pass this agreement,” which she claimed supported the Biden administration’s goal of “putting forward solutions to fix” the border and “address the root cause of migration.”

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who faces impeachment for his role in exacerbating the border crisis, also expressed optimism about the bill, which he dubbed “tough” and “fair.”

While Mayorkas correctly identified the legislation as a policy that “builds on this Administration’s approach” to the border, he falsely labeled the Biden administration’s position on illegal immigration as one “of strengthened consequences” instead of deliberate laxness.

Can’t make this stuff up. Here’s Biden, nearly a decade ago, sitting next to none other than Mayorkas proselytizing the grand “right-wing myth” known as the Great Replacement Theory. Turns out it’s not a conspiracy theory, it’s just the basic immigration policy for Democrats. pic.twitter.com/8B7CapEJzJ

In The Senate

In his pitch in favor of the legislation he wrote, Sen. Chris Murphy confirmed that, under the bill, the “border never closes.”

Murphy also echoed Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s attempt to blame the deal’s likely failure on former President Donald Trump.

“Many Senate Republicans are going to oppose this bill because it is too effective because Donald Trump is telling them no keep chaos at the border don’t solve the problem because that is good politics for us. Well that is really bad for the country,” Murphy said.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer signaled on Monday that, thanks to unanimous support from his party, he is “hopeful” that the open border bill will pass the upper chamber.

“This deal creates [a] real opportunity to address our borders and make progress to a more efficient and well-resourced system,” he claimed in a post on X. “It improves our adjudication system by hiring more frontline personnel and asylum officers, and creates new processes to provide faster and fair decisions.”

He admitted to reporters on Sunday night that support from the establishment GOP will also give the bill a boost.

“I have never worked more closely with Leader McConnell on any piece of legislation as we did on this,” he quipped.
