“My Pillow” CEO Mike Lindell announced Friday on the podcast of conservative activist Charlie Kirk that he was starting his own social media platform to rival Twitter, which banned both him and former President Donald Trump for spreading what the tech giant deemed baseless claims about election fraud.
“Every single influencer person on the planet can come there. You’re going to have a platform to speak out,” Lindell told Kirk. “We’re launching this big platform so all the voices of our country can come back and start telling it like it is again. You will not need YouTube. You won’t need these places … it will be where everything can be told, because we’ve got to get our voices back. People will be able to talk and not walk on eggshells.”
Lindell, who is facing a $1.3 billion lawsuit from voting machine company Dominion Voting Systems, said this isn’t a spontaneous decision. He claims to have been working on this project for four years and says it could launch in “four or five weeks,” or even as soon as “10 days.”
Lindell did not offer any information regarding the name, design, or functionality of his new platform.
